BETTE MIDLER’S HALLOWEEN GALA

imageBette Midler’s 60th birthday and her “Hulaween” bash for the New York Restoration Project at the Waldorf-Astoria was a smash and a sell out. Witches, goblins, cowboys, Indians, Vampiras and imps came costumed to the hilt, raising $2.2 million for Bette’s dream of a better New York! Hostesses Ellen Levine and Wendy Siegel were all togged out and Bette herself appeared onstage encased in a giant rose. Martin Short did his stuff as the auctioneer Jiminy Glick and for one little Jack Russell puppy, he upped the bidding to $15,000. Guests went home with Bette’s new Peggy Lee tribute CD, which had won raves that very day.
Sting and Trudie also appeared fully dressed up as you can see on the picture.
