Chris Botti is more than one of People magazine’s 50 most beautiful people. And he’s more than the guy who, until about a week ago, was dating the “Today” show’s Katie Couric. He is, first and foremost, one of the nation’s top solo musicians, working onstage and recording magic with his contemporary jazz trumpet. He and his band recently opened for Sting, and now he’s fronting the Josh Groban tour that will come to Evansville Wednesday. “My band and I have played in small venues and large arenas,” Botti said while on the way to a concert in Green Bay, Wis.
