iTunes confirmed Thursday (January 28) that tracks from the Hope For Haiti Now telethon on Friday, 22 January 2010 have combined to generate more than $3 million in relief funds. On Wednesday, the Hope for Haiti Now album became the first-ever digital-only album to debut at #1 on the SoundScan charts. Through Sunday of this past weekend, the album was purchased and downloaded more than 170,000 times ? nearly all of the sales coming from the iTunes store. Sting performed a rather wicked version of Driven to tears.
