HORST RECHELBACHER ON STING AND TRUDIE

Aveda founder and “ecopreneur”, Horst Rechelbacher has been on an ecological crusade since the 1980s, when he was swinging with the likes of Al Gore and Anita Roddick ? and he isn?t always kind about their high-profile missions. Sting and Trudie Styler, he says, “flew the Kayapo tribe from the Amazon and put them on stage at Carnegie Hall. They liked them because they were colourful and had mouth plates, but it was to the detriment of other tribes, who got no attention at all”. And there is a long, funny and, at times, angry story about how Roddick was “stockpiling brazil nuts that were rotting in metal sheds in the rainforest”.
