STING AND SUTRA SCARFS

imageThese two-ply, 100 percent pashmina Sūtra Scarf, hand knit by the women of the Citta Himalaya Women’s Center in Nepal contain hand embroidered special messages chosen by celebrity supporters. From David Bowie (who chose “funk”), Susan Sarandon (“awake”), to Sting (“resolve”). In Sanskrit, the word Sūtra means “a thread or line that holds things together” — a fitting image for a project uniting a very special community of women. The scarves are available for $100 on Tonic.com with proceeds from every sale benefiting Citta and their work being done in impoverished areas of India and Nepal through their Womens Centers.
