STING AND TRUDIE ON ANTI-NUKE ALBUM

Sting and Trudie Styler join star-studded line-up on new ‘Prayer Cycle 2: Path To Zero’ charity compilation. EMMY-winning and GRAMMY-nominated composer Jonathan Elias met Sting and Trudie Styler in 2006. Five years later they come together once again to support an urgent cause: bringing to light the intense social and moral implications of nuclear weapons.
“Sting, Trudie and I produced Guide to Recognizing Your Saints together back in 2006 and remained friends afterwards,” recalls Elias. “Trudie is an amazingly interesting and independent activist of many important causes. She becomes ‘Atomic Mother,’ perfectly embodying the concept with her stellar performance.”
Sting and Styler contribute to ‘Prayer Cycle 2’s’ opening track “Atomic Mother,” alongside Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Styler supplies vocals while Sting reads about Oppenheimer and the birth of the atomic bomb at the Trinity test site in Los Alamos, NM. The effect is chilling.
‘Prayer Cycle 2: Path To Zero’ will be released by Across The Universe Records on May 10. Proceeds from the CD will be donated to Global Zero, an international organization dedicated to nuclear disarmament.
