Contact Music reports that Sting has slammed the British honours system for rewarding SIR Bob Geldof while overlooking his Live Aid co-founder and organiser Midge Ure. Ex-Ultravox star Ure co-wrote the 1984 charity single Do they know it’s Christmas time? and co-organised both Live Aid and Live 8. But while Geldof received an honourary knighthood in 1986, Ure was given the lesser rank of Officer Of The Order Of The British Empire (OBE) just last month.
