The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the special guests for its 25th anniversary concerts, adding a number of big time artists to its previously announced lineup of fellow past inductees. Sting, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Smokey Robinson and Little Richard will all be there, showing off their rock ‘n’ roll chops and helping the Hall celebrate in style.
The concerts take place on 29 and 30 October at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The October 29 show will feature Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Sting, Smokey Robinson, Bonnie Raitt and Little Richard in addition to performances from Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.
Proceeds from the shows will be used to fund a permanent endowment for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum.
This year’s inductees to the Hall of Fame included Jeff Beck, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Metallica, Run-D.M.C. and Bobby Womack. Wanda Jackson was honored as an early influence inductee and Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham were inducted in the Sidemen category.
