NEWARK, N.J.(AP) — A suspected arms dealer was arraigned Wednesday on federal charges after he allegedly tried to sell shoulder-fired missiles to rock star Sting. Posing as a Muslim terrorist bent on shooting down an airliner, the former Police bass player infiltrated the suspected arms-dealing ring several months ago. After collecting information about the organization and its activities, Sting — the former Gordon Sumner — turned over his findings to the FBI, leading to Tuesday’s arrests.
