All 120.000 tickets for The Police‘s UK tour were snapped up in under an hour on Friday. Reuters reported that tickets for the first tour in 24 years by The Police sold out within 30 minutes on Friday. The band have four concerts in Britain in September and October as part of the European leg of their world comeback tour — Birmingham, London, Manchester and Cardiff. “Birmingham and Manchester went first — within 30 minutes I understand — then Twickenham and Cardiff,” said a spokeswoman for the band’s publicist Regine Moylett Publicity.
In the meantime, additional German, Danish and Dutch dates have been added due to the overwhelming respone in these countries as well.
The Police will open their European tour at the Globe Arena in Stockholm on August 29, following sold out dates in North America, opening in Vancouver on May 28.
