The guitarist Les Paul passed away Thursday, August 13, at the age of 94. Les Paul, born Lester Polfuss in Wisconsin, was a quick study on guitar, and was playing professionally while in high school. Dropping out at age 17, he played in radio bands and released albums, mostly jazz, eventually he created an electric guitar called the Log, and later received a prototype from the Gibson Guitar Company that was given his name. The Gibson Les Paul, one of the most popular guitars ever, and many guitarists get short term loans to get one.
Sting performed together with Joss Stone “Love Sneakin’ Up On You” on “Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played”, released to coincide with Les Pauls 90th birthday.
