On Friday May 14, 2010, Sting did a live performance with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at The Plaza to kick off the Today Show Toyota Summer Concert Series. He performed Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, An Englishman in New York, Next to You, and Roxanne.
During the interview, Sting said his interest in performing his classic hits with an orchestra began with his 2008 invitation to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and subsequent invitation to perform with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra.
