Sting is confident the Live 8 concerts will force the collective hand of world leaders to finally set about eradicating poverty in Africa and around the world.
Sting, who performed three hits, Message in a bottle, Driven to tears (with pieces of Demolition Man) and Every breath you take at the London gig in Hyde Park yesterday, believes that the huge groundswell in public opinion leaves politicians with no choice. And he hopes change will start as soon as next week at the G8 Summit in Scotland. He says, “Those eight men in that room next week will position themselves to please these people. They’ll have to.”
