The Gregg Kofi Brown contest proved to be a very difficult one, since only 57 correct answers reached us. The question was the following: Novecento, “Grand Gala du Disc”of 28 September 1993, and Sting, what is the exact common denominator? The answer had to be complete and clearly explain the relation between all the mentioned elements. 10 lucky winners were able to make the correct reasoning, Toots Thielemans:
– Toots collaborated with Novecento on the track “After All” in 2002.
– Toots performed on 28 September 1993, together with Sting at the AVRO “Grand Gala du Disc” on an outstanding live version of “Shape of my heart”.
The hint was that the webmaster of StingUs (Karel Van Isacker) was related with the origin of the common denominator … well, Toots Thielemans is originating from Antwerp in Belgium, the country of origin of StingUs’ webmaster. Both even met in the late 90’s at Brussels Airport …
Jean “Toots” Thielemans (born Brussels, April 29, 1922) is a Belgian jazz artist well known for his harmonica play. He started his career as a guitar player.
