The auction is in aid of childrens charity Rays of Sunshine (www.raysofsunshine.org.uk). The charity usually holds an annual event at the Roundhouse in Camden Town, to raise funds for the charity, which grants wishes for terminally and seriously ill children in the UK. With auction lots as glittering and varied as meet and greets with rockers Coldplay or Kaiser Chiefs, lunch with the soulful Craig David in his Hampstead home and signed memorabilia from Sting, this years event would have been attended by high-rollers and celebrities alike. However, the charity felt that this years economic climate called for a different approach and they decided to auction all the lots online through www.buyonvcegivetwice.com .

Rays of Sunshine was set up to make wishes come true for children with serious or life-limiting illnesses between the ages of 3 and 18 across the United Kingdom, to buy vitally needed equipment for those children and to support the hospitals, hospices and specialist schools that care for them, by purchasing equipment and funding capital projects
