BLUE FIN TUNA AND STING…

East Ender Drew Nieporent and his partner in the very hip Nobu restaurant chain, Robert Deniro are being leaned on big time by a group of celebs (all regulars) to stop serving endangered Blue Fin tuna at their restaurants here and abroad. Sting, Trudie Styler, Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron, Jemima Khan, Woody Harrelson, Alicia Silverstone, Zac Goldsmith, Elle Macpherson and Stephen Fry have reportedly written the restaurant to say they can no longer dine with a clear conscience as long as the restaurant continues to serve blue fin tuna – a species considered by many to be as endangered as the white rhinoceros, panda or tiger.
The plight of the blue fin tuna has been spotlighted with the release of “The End of the Line”, a film narrated by Ted Danson that shows the effects of overfishing on the world’s oceans. The celebs who all claim to love Nobu have threatened not to come to the restaurants if it is not removed from the menu due to its perilous position as an endangered species.
