Sting, together with other celebrity guests and millionaires were invited by the British clothing tycoon Richard Caring to St. Petersburg last weekend to attend three days of lavish balls, concerts and parties at the Grand Hotel Europe and palaces in the city. Guests included among others former U.S. President Bill Clinton, singer Sting and his wife Trudie Styler. 450 guests were flown to the event, which was held in aid of Britains National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and guests paid $8.600 each to attend (minor detail: the NSPCC was not involved in the organization of the event but was aware that it was taking place).
