The bands finale on August 7 at Madison Square Garden will act as a fund-raiser for public television. According to our sources, the entire gig will be broadcasted on the New York public television stations WNET and WLIW, with (later) distribution to the BBC and other stations worldwide. On June 14 these stations will kick off a special one-day pledge drive, including interviews with Sting, archival footage of the band in concert, and the chance for viewers to get tickets to the bands finale. A $5,000 donation will get the V.I.P. treatment dinner, a party, attendance at a sound check while $150 will secure a pair of tickets.
