After Sting had presented an award at the 2006 Rock And Roll Of Fame Inductions in New York at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on March 13 to trumpet legend Herb Alpert and his business partner Jerry Moss – the record executives who founded the A&M record label -, he seemed to have had some other pleasant business: following we picked up from monsters and Critics:
Sting demanded total privacy during a recent strip club visit – making staff tell a group of noisy revellers to stay away from him. The singer was enjoying an evening at popular New York lapdancing venue, the Penthouse Executive Club, when his erotic fun was interrupted by a drunken bachelor party. Fearing that his night of ogling would be interrupted once the men recognised who he was, Sting – who used to regularly take his wife, Trudie Styler, to strip clubs – asked security to warn the group not to approach him. One reveller told America’s New York Post newspaper: ‘A bouncer came over to my drunken crowd to pre-emptively tell us to stay away from him, saying something to the effect of, ‘Yes, that is Sting, but he wants to be left alone.” The former Police star – who is rumoured to ask dancers to keep their clothes on when lapdancing for him – was later spotted being led away to the venue’s ‘champagne room’ by a long-legged blonde stripper.
