STING AT MARK LANIER’S CHRISTMAS PARTY

As reported by Culturemap Houston: In town to perform at trial lawyer Mark Lanier’s annual Christmas party on Sunday, Sting made his way to Eddie V’s at West Ave the night before and went wild for the oysters. Sting was so intrigued by the bivalves on the menu that he insisted on a close-up, in-the-kitchen inspection of the various oysters. He was clearly impressed, ordering a large plate that he washed down with gin and tonic. Continuing his odyssey in the seafood hotspot, Sting ordered a salmon entree and a few glasses of vino.
Joining Sting at the table were guitarist and frequent collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr.. The trio was joined by Valerie Sarofim and mutual friend Alyssa Waltze in from Malibu.
The feast went on for nearly three hours giving Eddie V’s diners an eyeful of the celebs dining at a center table in the main dining room. Most kept their distance during dinner but when Sting and friends departed, he was swarmed by fans. We are told that the rocker handled the attention with grace.
Pictures of the party can be found here. The setlist was like a typical Broken Music setlist with e.g. Message in a Bottle, Englishmen in NY, Every Little Thing She Does, Fields of Gold, If You Love Someone Set Them Free, Driven to Tears, …
Note: The invitation included a wind-up Ferris wheel and booklet with a password…
