The reunion of The Police has been the topic of the year by now. Founded by American-born drummer Stewart Copeland in early 1977, the band is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Stewart Copeland, Sting and Andy Summers formed the super trio that came to a halt in 1984 in Melbourne, Australia. Apart from some small get-togethers such as the Amnesty gigs in 1986, Sting’s wedding in 1992 and the induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, no real reunion took place.
