TRUDIE BACK ONSTAGE

Playbill published the following article: Film actress Trudie Styler, who is married to pop singer-songwriter Sting, will star in one-night-only benefit performances of Tricia Walsh-Smith’s Addictions in Los Angeles and London in May. The evenings at the Ray Kurtzman Theater in Los Angeles and the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End will be directed by Christopher Biggins. Additional casting and performance dates for the three one-act plays will be announced shortly.
Both performances will benefit The Kevin Walsh Foundation, which assists those struggling with drug or alcohol abuse. Playwright Walsh-Smith, author of Bonkers, penned Addictions after the suicide of her youngest brother Kevin, who was a long-time alcohol addict. According to press notes, it is Walsh-Smith’s hope “that this play might help other suffering addicts.” The playwright will also be the subject of a new documentary produced by Freestyle Productions, which will examine “her own personal struggle with addiction as well as her creative journey as an author, actress, producer, and philanthropist.”
Trudie Styler has appeared in the films “Bug,” “Fair Game” and “Me Without You” and in the television programs “Friends,” “Empire,” “Midsomer Murders” and “Miss Marple Mysteries.” She also produced the films “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.”
