THE POLICE REHEARSALS – SOUND AND IMAGE EXCERPTS

The Police were out rehearsing for their upcoming concert tour in the North Van Dry Docks, and Rock 101 was able to capture some exclusive footage.
In fact, the band was rehearsing on a 10-storey stage that appeared right next to Vancouver Shipyards in North Vancouver. As the band tested microphones and ran through some songs, like Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, a handful of fans from the neighbourhood – as well as a few media types – tried to catch a glimpse of the middle-aged rockers through strategically placed trains, semi-trailers and security. Any attempt to videotape the band was met with swift-but-polite warnings about copyright infringement. The only Sting sighting was via the big-screen set up behind the stage, through two railcars, from about 500 yards. A similar view awaits those who shelled out for upper-bowl seats for the band’s gigs at GM Place next week.
